So I thought it would be fun to start some family Christmas traditions. We bought a ready-to-build gingerbread house. The instructions said to hold the walls for several minutes and then wait 30 minutes before putting on the roof. When we put on the roof, the whole house collapsed. What the directions should have said, was leave walls overnight, then spend another 2 hours trying to get the roof from sliding off, then apply decorations. It was still fun for the kids, and the house is a little less decorated than it should be thanks to the kids sneaking the candy. That's what Gingerbread houses are for though right?

What a good idea! You really are Martha Stewart, Alicia! You are making the rest of us look bad. We sure are going to miss you guys for Christmas this year.
